Coil copper tubing for potable water
This 20 ft coil of seamless copper tubing is manufactured to ASTM B88 and NSF/ANSI/CAN 61 for potable-water service. It is made from C12200 grade copper with a 3/8 in outside diameter and 0.03 in wall thickness. The soft temper allows easy bending during installation.
Replaces rigid straight lengths in tight runs
The coiled form eliminates the need for multiple fittings when routing around obstacles or through joists. It is worth choosing when a continuous run reduces potential leak points and the soft temper can be shaped by hand without special tools.
Pressure and temperature limits of Type L copper
Maximum operating pressure is 729 psi at 200 Degrees F with a maximum temperature rating of 400 Degrees F. The 0.25 in inside diameter restricts flow volume compared to larger tube sizes. Not suited for applications requiring higher pressure ratings or larger flow capacity.

Questions about this item
What fitting size matches the 3/8 in outside diameter of this 20 ft copper coil?
Use fittings rated for 3/8 in OD or 1/4 in copper tube size; the tubing is Type L with a 0.03 in wall and 0.25 in ID.
How do you make a leak-free joint on this soft-temper seamless copper tubing?
Clean the cut end, apply flux, and solder with lead-free alloy; the soft temper bends easily but kinks if forced over a tight radius.
When should this coil be replaced in a potable-water system?
Replace if green corrosion appears, walls thin below 0.03 in, or the tubing exceeds 400 °F or 729 psi at 200 °F during service.
