A dial-up modem with DB-25 interface, dual RJ11 ports, V.90 support, 56Kbps data and 14.4kbps fax speeds
The Multi-Tech MT5634ZBA is a DB-25 dial-up modem built for small businesses, telecommuters and SOHO users. It delivers data and fax functions over a standard phone line with remote configuration and callback security features. Two RJ11 ports support the line connection and an optional handset.
The modem reaches 56 Kbps downstream under V.90 and earlier ITU standards, while fax tops out at 14.4 kbps. That headroom covers email, light web access and document faxing, but it cannot handle broadband speeds, video streaming or modern cloud workloads.
With no moving parts and minimal power draw from the serial port, the unit runs cool and silent in normal use. It adds negligible heat to a rack or desktop and requires no active cooling or external power supply.
