Pet-care guide on CD-ROM

My Pet Critter is an educational CD-ROM for Windows and Mac that helps families choose and look after small exotic animals such as tarantulas and lizards. It combines photographs, video clips, sound, a screen-saver and a quiz to teach responsible ownership before a purchase is made.

Straightforward disc installation

Insert the disc into any 2X or faster CD-ROM drive and follow the on-screen prompts; the program runs directly from the disc on supported systems. The only common issue is that modern 64-bit Windows versions beyond Windows 7 cannot run the 16-bit installer without a virtual machine or compatibility layer.

Check legacy OS and drive access

Verify that the target computer runs Windows 98, Me, XP, Vista or Windows 7 (32-bit or 64-bit) or Mac OS 7.0–9.2 with Classic mode, has at least 8 MB RAM and a 640 x 480 display with 256 colours. A working CD-ROM drive and Windows-compatible sound hardware are also required.
