45W USB-C adapter for Asus and HP Chromebooks

This 45 watt USB-C power adapter supplies 5V-3A, 9V-3A, 15V-3A and 20V-2.25A outputs through a single Type-C port. It targets owners of listed Asus Chromebook, ZenBook and Transformer models as well as HP Chromebook x360 and 14-inch series devices that accept USB Power Delivery input.

Multi-voltage output and protection circuits

The adapter negotiates four fixed voltage steps up to 45 watts, allowing compatible laptops to draw the level they require. Built-in over-voltage and short-circuit protection cut power during fault conditions, reducing risk to the connected device.

USB Power Delivery 45W ceiling

The Type-C interface caps delivery at 45 watts, so laptops configured for higher wattage will charge more slowly or not at all. The fixed 5V, 9V, 15V and 20V steps also mean devices needing intermediate voltages must settle for the nearest lower step.

Questions about this item

Will the USB-C cable need replacing after heavy daily use?

The adapter has a fixed USB-C cable; if the connector or insulation wears, the whole unit must be replaced.

What limits continuous 45 W output during long sessions?

Internal thermal protection caps sustained delivery; the charger will throttle or shut down if it overheats.

How hot or loud does the adapter get when left plugged in all day?

It runs silently with no fan; the case becomes warm but stays within normal operating temperature for a 45 W GaN-style supply.
