Isolated CAN HS/FD transceiver cable connects NI-9860, PXIe-8510, cDAQ-9134 or cDAQ-9135 controllers to a CAN bus with software-selectable termination
The National Instruments TRC-8542 cable links a CAN bus to the NI-9860, PXIe-8510, or the native NI-XNET port on a cDAQ-9134 or cDAQ-9135 controller. It provides the required transceiver for CAN HS/FD communication in a single isolated assembly.
The cable includes built-in termination resistors that can be enabled or disabled through software, removing the need for external hardware jumpers. Isolation protects the host controller from bus faults and ground loops.
Installation is a simple plug into the supported NI module or controller port; no separate transceiver box is required. Mismatched connectors or unsupported NI hardware will prevent operation.

Yes, the TRC-8542 cable with part number 783699-02 is designed to connect CAN HS/FD buses to the NI-9860, PXIe-8510, cDAQ-9134 or cDAQ-9135 controllers.
It provides the physical CAN HS/FD transceiver and software-selectable termination resistors, electrically isolating the bus from the NI-XNET port on your controller.
The cable plugs into the native NI-XNET port on compatible cDAQ controllers or modules, capping the connection to the CAN HS/FD protocol supported by that port.
