Two-person three-season shelter

The Naturehike Mongar is a freestanding dome tent built for two people on backpacking, camping, hiking or cycling trips. It weighs 4.73 lb packed and compresses to 19.7 by 5.9 in so it fits inside a rucksack. The Y-frame pole structure uses three 7001 aluminium alloy poles and sleeves, and the setup instructions are sewn into the stuff sack for reference.

Upgrade from heavier or single-layer tents

The double-layer construction separates a 20D nylon flysheet rated at 4000 mm from a B3 mesh inner, giving better condensation control than single-wall designs. Two doors and two vestibules replace the single entry found on many minimalist shelters, and the freestanding pitch works on ground where stakes cannot hold. The jump is worth it when you need reliable rain protection plus insect mesh without a large weight penalty.

Thirty square feet of floor

The 82.7 by 53.2 in floor provides 2.97 square metres of sleeping area, enough for two adults and packs. Peak height reaches 41.3 in for sitting upright. Two vestibules store boots and packs out of the rain, and the flysheet’s 4000 mm rating handles sustained downpours. The mesh inner limits warmth retention, so the shelter suits three-season use rather than winter conditions.
