NEC M420XM OEM Replacement Projector Lamp

The NEC M420XM OEM replacement projector lamp (model NP17LP) delivers a new 265W Osram UHP bulb pre-assembled in its housing for immediate installation. It is designed for users who need a direct, factory-specification light source to restore brightness in compatible NEC projectors. The module arrives ready to fit without additional assembly, reducing downtime for presentation venues, classrooms or home cinema setups that rely on consistent output.

Lamp life and operating modes

Rated lamp life is 3000 hours in normal mode and 3500 hours in economy mode, giving a clear boundary for scheduled maintenance. Economy mode extends the interval between replacements but reduces light output, so users must decide whether maximum brightness or longer service intervals suit their environment. The 265W rating defines the power draw and thermal load the projector must accommodate, and no other wattage variant is supported by this module.

Upgrade from expired or dimming original lamps

This lamp replaces an exhausted or significantly dimmed original unit, returning the projector to its specified luminance and colour balance. The jump is worth it when the existing lamp has reached or exceeded the rated hour limits, shows flickering, or fails to ignite reliably. It is not for users seeking higher brightness than the projector's native design, nor for those needing a different wattage or form factor to modify the projector's optical path.
