98" UHD commercial display

The NEC E988 is a 98-inch commercial display built for meeting rooms and digital-signage installations. Its 3840 x 2160 resolution and IPS panel deliver wide viewing angles for groups of up to 12 participants. The screen suits corporate environments that need reliable, all-day operation without external media players.

350 nits brightness and 1100:1 contrast

The panel reaches 350 cd/m² with a 1100:1 contrast ratio, handling typical office lighting and signage content comfortably. HDR playback is supported through the integrated MediaPlayer for deeper contrast on compatible material. In very bright ambient conditions the fixed 350-nit output may limit visibility compared with higher-brightness signage models.

Integrated MediaPlayer and LAN control

A built-in USB MediaPlayer auto-plays UHD and HDR content from local storage, removing the need for extra cables or signage software. Automatic input detection switches between HDMI sources for instant meeting start-up. NEC NaviSet Administrator 2 over LAN lets facilities teams manage the display remotely across a corporate network.

Questions about this item

Will the E988 work with my older laptop that only has HDMI 1.4 output?

The display accepts HDMI sources and switches between them automatically, so an HDMI 1.4 laptop will drive the screen at its native 3840 x 2160 resolution up to 60 Hz.

How can I verify the panel is running at the full 3840 x 2160 resolution and 60 Hz refresh rate after installation?

Open the on-screen information menu — it reports the active input timing, confirming 3840 x 2160 at 60 Hz and the 1100:1 contrast ratio.

Does the box include a wall mount or do I need to order a VESA bracket separately?

The package contains the 98" display, remote control, power cord and USB MediaPlayer licence; a VESA-compatible wall mount must be purchased separately.
