Bright 2800-lumen DLP projector for small spaces

The NEC VE281X delivers 2800 ANSI lumens and a 3000:1 contrast ratio through DLP technology, making it suitable for small-to-medium businesses, education settings and corporate conference rooms where ambient light is present. Its native 800 x 600 resolution supports 1080i HD video input for clear presentations.

Quiet operation with long lamp life

Intelligent Driving Scheme (IDS2) extends lamp life up to 6000 hours while maintaining contrast performance. Auto Power On and quick startup and shutdown reduce energy consumption during daily use. The 5.1 lb chassis includes a built-in 7 W speaker for all-in-one convenience.

Replaces older SVGA projectors lacking HDMI

This unit upgrades installations that rely on legacy VGA or composite connections by adding HDMI Standard, RS232 and 3D Ready capability. Buyers who need widescreen native resolution or higher brightness for large venues should consider other models.

Questions about this item

How do I mount the VE281X and what is the throw distance mistake people make?

The VE281X uses a medium throw ratio, so place it at the correct distance for your screen width; the common error is setting it too close, which produces an image smaller than expected.

When will the lamp need replacing and what does the extra lamp in the bundle cover?

Lamp life reaches up to 6000 hours in eco mode; the included spare lamp provides a direct replacement when brightness drops, avoiding downtime.

What limits image quality first during long sessions — heat, fan noise or resolution?

Native resolution is 800 x 600, so detail ceiling appears before thermal throttling; the 2800 ANSI lumen output and 3000:1 contrast stay stable within the rated 6000-hour lamp window.
