64GB DDR5 ECC RDIMM kit

This 64GB kit contains two 32GB DDR5 4800 CL40 registered DIMMs built for the SuperMicro SuperWorkstation SYS-551A-T. It delivers 1.10V operation and on-die ECC for data integrity in professional workloads. Buyers needing non-ECC memory or consumer UDIMM form factors cannot use this kit.

Sustained load behaviour

Registered buffering and single-rank 1Rx4 organisation reduce electrical load on the memory controller during long compute sessions. Samsung, Micron or Hynix chips are tested under load to maintain stability at the rated PC5-38400 speed. Systems without RDIMM support will not post with these modules installed.

Installation notes

The 288-pin DDR5 modules key into the motherboard slots in one orientation; no heat spreader is fitted, so clearance is minimal. Mixing with existing RDIMMs of different rank or speed may prevent the system from training at 4800 MT/s. Always populate slots per the SuperWorkstation manual to avoid boot failures.

Questions about this item

How much power does the 1.10V DDR5 4800 kit draw when the SuperWorkstation runs all day?

Each module operates at 1.10V; total draw depends on the SYS-551A-T memory controller and workload, so check the system's power telemetry under sustained load.

What must the SuperMicro SuperWorkstation SYS-551A-T already have to accept this 288-pin RDIMM kit?

The workstation needs free DDR5 RDIMM slots that support 1Rx4 registered ECC modules at 4800 MT/s and a BIOS that recognises the 32GB density per DIMM.

Will the CL40 1Rx4 modules run alongside older DDR5 RDIMMs I keep in the same SYS-551A-T?

Mixed ranks or latencies force the memory controller to run all channels at the slowest common timing; populate identical kits per channel for stable 4800 operation.
