Targeted ASUS 2U Server Upgrade

This 256 GB kit contains four 64 GB DDR5 4800 ECC RDIMM modules built for the ASUS RS520A-E12-RS12U single-socket 2U server. Registered buffering and error correction protect data integrity in mission-critical workloads. The kit is engineered for IT professionals who manage enterprise infrastructure.

Replaces Slower or Smaller Factory Memory

Upgrading from lower-capacity or lower-speed DDR5 RDIMMs is worthwhile when virtualisation density, database caching or large-dataset analytics demand more bandwidth and capacity. The jump makes sense when the server currently runs at maximum DIMM count but still hits memory pressure under load.

Verify DIMM Slots and Qualified Vendor List

Confirm the RS520A-E12-RS12U has four free DDR5 RDIMM slots and that the motherboard QVL accepts 2Rx4 64 GB modules at CL40 1.10 V. Check the BIOS revision required for 256 GB total capacity before ordering.

Questions about this item

Will the 288-pin DDR5 RDIMM modules fit the ASUS RS520A-E12-RS12U server motherboard?

Yes. The kit is built for that exact ASUS single-socket 2U server and uses the standard 288-pin DDR5 RDIMM form factor the board requires.

What is the correct order for populating the four 64GB modules during installation?

Follow the ASUS RS520A-E12-RS12U manual — typically fill the same-coloured slots per channel first, then the second channel, so the registered ECC modules initialise in the supported sequence.

When should the registered ECC RDIMMs be replaced or re-qualified in a production server?

Replace a module if ECC correctable-error counters rise sharply, if the server logs uncorrectable memory errors, or after a major firmware update that changes memory-training parameters.
