Five-port Gigabit switch with PoE+

This five-port Gigabit switch delivers 1000 Mbps per port and supplies up to 63 W of PoE+ power across four ports. It is built for small offices or home offices that need to power wireless access points, IP cameras or VoIP phones without separate injectors. The fanless, desktop or wall-mountable chassis runs silently in quiet environments.

Upgrade from unmanaged or non-PoE switches

Moving from an unmanaged switch adds VLAN segmentation, QoS prioritisation and per-port PoE control through a browser-based GUI. The jump is worthwhile when you need to separate guest traffic, guarantee bandwidth for voice or video, or remotely cycle power on a frozen device without climbing a ladder.

Sustained load with 63 W budget and fanless cooling

Under continuous full PoE load the 63 W budget is shared across the four powered ports, while the fanless design relies on passive convection within the 0 °C to 40 °C operating range. The 192 KB buffer and 9216-byte jumbo frames absorb traffic bursts, and uninterrupted PoE keeps endpoints powered during firmware updates or software reboots.

Questions about this item

How much desk or wall space does the GS305EP need for its desktop format and wall-mountable design?

The switch uses a compact desktop footprint and includes wall-mount slots, so it fits on a shelf or can be screwed to a wall without a rack.

What is the correct order to connect the power adapter and PoE devices so the 63 W budget is recognised?

Plug the external power adapter into the switch first, wait for the Power LED to turn solid green, then connect PoE devices to the four PoE+ ports.

When should the fanless GS305EP be cleaned to keep its 0 °C to 40 °C operating range reliable?

Vacuum dust from the ventilation slots every six to twelve months, or sooner in dusty environments, to maintain passive cooling performance.
