A five-port Gigabit Ethernet switch with plug-and-play setup, fanless metal housing and desktop or wall mounting for silent, energy-efficient wired expansion
Model GS305
This unmanaged desktop switch adds five RJ45 ports that auto-negotiate at 10, 100 or 1000 Mbps. It suits home offices and small businesses that need instant wired connectivity without configuration software. The metal enclosure is fanless for silent operation and can sit on a desk or be wall-mounted. Plug-and-play setup means devices connect as soon as cables are inserted.
The switch complies with 802.3ab, 802.3u and 802.3i, so each port tops out at 1000 Mbps full-duplex. Flow control follows 802.3x, while 802.1p and DSCP give basic QoS for traffic prioritisation. Jumbo frames up to 9216 bytes pass through the 128 KB buffer, but the 2K MAC table and single switching layer cap the total simultaneous conversations. No PoE support means attached cameras or phones need their own power supplies.
Because the device is strictly Layer 2 unmanaged, it cannot segment traffic with VLANs, run link aggregation or provide any remote monitoring. Buyers who need port-level security, traffic shaping or SNMP visibility must choose a managed or smart-managed model instead. The 5 V, 0.7 A external adapter draws 2.15 W at peak and 0.31 W idle, and the unit operates from 0 to 40 °C with up to 90 % relative humidity.

Other versions of this model
Choose the GS305 when you only need to connect up to five devices and want the smallest metal case; step up to the GS308 if you anticipate eight connections and can spare the extra width.
Each RJ45 port runs at up to 1000 Mbps full-duplex, so a direct link between two Gigabit devices can move data at near line rate without fan noise or configuration.
Flow control only pauses frames briefly during congestion; with 128 KB buffer and 9216-byte jumbo frames the switch sustains wire-speed Gigabit traffic under normal loads.
