Universal Spill Containment

The New Pig 2048 Sorbent Sock absorbs coolants, oils, solvents and water in industrial settings. Each blue sock measures 3 in by 48 in and holds 0.75 gal of liquid. A pack of 20 delivers 15 gal total capacity for routine maintenance or emergency response.

Facilities Needing Flexible Barriers

Maintenance teams who want a mouldable barrier around machinery or drum pallets will find the round profile easy to shape. Operations that require a rope running the full length for retrieval or linking should look at alternative designs.

Quick Deployment and Common Issues

Lay the sock flat against the floor or wrap it around equipment; no tools or fasteners are required. The polypropylene skin can tear if dragged across sharp edges, and saturated socks become heavy, so plan removal before they reach full capacity.

Questions about this item

What spill volume can one 3 in x 48 in sock absorb before I need another?

Each sock absorbs up to 0.75 gal of universal fluids including coolants, oils, solvents or water.

Will these blue socks work with the metal-type coolants already in my shop?

Yes, they are rated for chemical or metal-type coolants as well as oils, solvents and water.

How do I confirm the 20-pack is delivering the 15 gal total capacity after I lay them out?

A full package absorbs 15 gal; saturation of the vermiculite filler and darkening of the blue polypropylene skin show each sock is spent.
