Purpose and fit

The New Pig SKM404 Sorbent Sock is designed for facilities that need to contain and absorb oil-based liquids quickly. Each sock measures 3 in by 18 in and is sold in a 25 pack for high-volume spill response. It targets maintenance teams handling fuel, oil or other hydrocarbon leaks on floors or around equipment.

Build and daily use

The white polypropylene filler and outer mesh are chemically compatible with oils and fuel while repelling water, so the sock stays effective in wet conditions. A round profile lets it hug machine bases, drum pallets or curbs without rolling away. No internal rope means the sock lays flat and conforms to uneven surfaces right out of the box.

Upgrade path

This pack replaces loose granular absorbents or single-use pads that require frequent replacement and create secondary waste. The 9 gal total absorption capacity per package reduces change-outs during extended cleanup jobs. The jump is worth it when a facility wants a reusable, low-dust solution that can be wrung out and redeployed for recurring leaks.
