Charcoal Fiberglass Screen 48 in Wide

This fiberglass wire fabric measures 48 inches wide and 25 feet long. It is intended for replacement window and door screens in residential settings. The charcoal color reduces glare while maintaining outward visibility. Mesh size is 18 by 16 with a wire diameter of .011 inches.

Medium Mesh Limits Airflow and Insect Exclusion

The 18 by 16 mesh density blocks common insects but restricts airflow more than open weaves. The .011 inch wire adds stiffness that resists sagging yet makes tight corners harder to form. Charcoal fiberglass can absorb heat under direct sun, which may soften the material over time. Buyers who need finer pollen filtration or pet-resistant strength should consider other mesh specifications.

Questions about this item

Which mesh size should I pick for this 48-inch-wide fiberglass screen?

The roll has a fixed 18-by-16 mesh count, so there is no alternative mesh option to choose.

What does the 0.011-inch wire diameter mean once the screen is installed?

It gives a medium-weight fiberglass fabric that resists sag across the 48-inch width while staying flexible enough for standard spline installation.
