USB 3.0 dual-band WiFi adapter

The NEWFAST AC1300 USB adapter adds 802.11ac wireless to a desktop PC through a micro USB 3.0 port. Four external 6 dBi dual-band antennas provide 867 Mbps on 5 GHz and 300 Mbps on 2.4 GHz for a combined 1300 Mbps link rate. The 3.28 ft cable allows flexible antenna placement away from the chassis.

Desktop users needing MU-MIMO

This adapter suits Windows XP through Windows 11 desktops that lack built-in WiFi or need stronger reception. MU-MIMO support helps when several devices share the same access point. Buyers who require Bluetooth connectivity, an internal PCIe card, or a smaller nano form factor should consider other options.

1300 Mbps combined 802.11ac throughput

The single specification that determines suitability is the 1300 Mbps maximum wireless data rate split across 5 GHz and 2.4 GHz bands. If your router and internet plan cannot exceed this rate the adapter will not become a bottleneck.

Questions about this item

How do I install the NF-U329 adapter and which step do people often miss?

Plug the micro USB 3.0 connector into a USB 3.0 port, install the driver on Windows XP 7 8 8.1 10 or 11, then position the four 6 dBi antennas upright. People often leave the antennas folded down.

What maintenance or replacement will the NF-U329 need later?

No scheduled maintenance is required. Keep the 3.28 ft cable and four external antennas free of dust. Replace the unit only if wireless performance drops below the 867 Mbps 5 GHz or 300 Mbps 2.4 GHz rates.

What limit appears first under sustained heavy use?

The USB 3.0 interface and 1300 Mbps aggregate wireless ceiling cap throughput before thermal throttling becomes a factor.
