Specific Compatibility

This NewTH replacement microphone is built exclusively for the wired Kingston HyperX Cloud III gaming headset. It connects via a 3.5 mm jack and works with PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PC, Mac and phones that accept a 3.5 mm headset connection. It will not function with any other headset model.

Interface Limit

The 3.5 mm gold-plated connector relies on the host device for power and signal processing, so audio quality varies with the controller or sound card used. The microphone presents a 50 ohm impedance and has no inline controls or digital processing of its own. Devices lacking a 3.5 mm headset port cannot use this mic without an adapter.

Capacity and Headroom

The uni-directional boom bends 360 degrees and holds its position for close-talk streaming or gaming sessions. The foam cover and extra pop filter piece suppress plosives and ambient noise while maintaining clear voice capture. Physical dimensions are 6.7 x 3.7 x .7 inches, so the boom adds noticeable length to the headset but remains lightweight for extended wear.

Questions about this item

Should I buy this mic for a different headset or only the Wired Kingston HyperX Cloud III?

This replacement microphone is made exclusively for the Wired Kingston HyperX Cloud III headset. It will not function with any other headset model, so choose it only if you own that specific headset.

What does the 50 ohm impedance mean for my voice chat quality?

The 50 ohm impedance matches the headset's input for clear, low-noise voice transmission. It helps maintain consistent audio levels and reduces distortion during gaming or streaming sessions.

How does the 3.5 mm gold-plated jack affect compatibility with consoles and PC?

The 3.5 mm gold-plated connector works with any device that accepts a standard 3.5 mm headset jack, including PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PC, and Mac. Gold plating resists oxidation for a reliable connection.
