Purpose-built dash camera

The Nextbase 522GW Series 2 records 1440p video at 30 frames per second through a 140° lens. Alexa voice control allows hands-free operation while driving. Bluetooth 4.2 and Wi-Fi connect the unit to a smartphone for footage transfer.

Practical limits of Bluetooth 4.2

The Bluetooth 4.2 link handles configuration and clip downloads but lacks the bandwidth for live high-resolution streaming. Large 1440p files move faster over the direct Wi-Fi connection. Voice commands rely on a paired phone data connection for Alexa processing.

Capacity and headroom

The 1440p Quad HD resolution captures licence plates and road detail in daylight. The polarising filter cuts windscreen glare that can wash out highlights. Loop recording with G-sensor protection preserves incident footage until the card fills. Night scenes or very wide dynamic range push the sensor to its limits.
