Copper Reducer for Drain Systems
The Nibco 6002 is a wrot copper reducer designed for drain components. It connects a 2 inch fitting end to a 1 1/4 inch copper tube end using an FTG x C joint. The part is new and meets ASME/ANSI B 16.22 standards for plumbing installations.
Pressure and Temperature Headroom
The reducer withstands a maximum pressure of 364 psi at 100 degrees F. Its operating temperature range spans from -20 degrees to 400 degrees F. Within these limits the joint maintains integrity; beyond them the fitting may deform or leak and should not be used.
ASME/ANSI B 16.22 Interface Limits
The connection follows the ASME/ANSI B 16.22 standard for wrought copper solder-joint pressure fittings. This standard defines the dimensions and tolerances for the FTG x C joint. Installations that require different pressure classes, thread types or tube materials fall outside the scope of this reducer.

Questions about this item
Will the 2 in x 1 1/4 in wrot copper reducer join cleanly to older copper pipe of the same nominal sizes?
The fitting uses FTG x C connections with outside diameters of 2-1/8 in and 1-3/8 in, matching standard copper tube dimensions for sweat soldering to existing pipe of those nominal sizes.
How can I verify the joint is sound after soldering the FTG x C reducer?
Pressurise the system up to the rated 364 psi at 100 Degrees F and inspect each soldered joint for leaks; the ASME/ANSI B 16.22 marking confirms the fitting meets the pressure standard.
Does the box contain flux, solder or any installation accessories for the copper reducer?
Only the wrot copper reducer itself is supplied; flux, solder and any required cleaning tools must be purchased separately.
