Copper Reducing Tee for 5/8 in Tube
This NIBCO 611R fitting joins two 5/8 in copper tubes with a 1/4 in branch using sweat connections. It is made from wrought copper alloy C12200 and meets ASTM B75, ASME B16.22 and MSS SP-104 standards for plumbing and mechanical systems.
Pressure and Temperature Headroom
The tee is rated for 505 psi at 200 degrees F and operates from -20 to 400 degrees F. It handles typical residential and commercial water pressures with margin but is not suited for steam lines or high-pressure hydraulic circuits exceeding the stated limit.
Certified for Potable Water and Medical Gas
Third-party certification to NSF/ANSI 61 Annex G and NFPA 99 confirms suitability for drinking water and medical gas installations. It does not replace press-connect or threaded fittings where soldering is impractical or prohibited by local code.

Questions about this item
Will the 5/8 in ends of this reducing tee solder cleanly to existing copper pipe of the same nominal size?
Yes, the C x C x C solder-cup connections are made to ASTM B75 Alloy C12200 wrought copper, matching standard 5/8 in nominal tube so existing pipe of that size will join directly.
How can I verify the tee is rated for the 200 °F hot-water line I plan to use it on?
The body carries the NSF/ANSI 61 Annex G mark and meets ASME B16.22 and MSS SP-104, confirming a 505 psi pressure rating at 200 °F.
Does the package include flux, solder or any sealing compound for the three C x C joints?
No, the box contains only the single copper reducing tee; flux, solder and any required pipe preparation materials must be purchased separately.
