Bronze Reducing Tee for Potable Water
This NIBCO 705-LF reducing tee joins two 1/2 inch copper tubes with a 1/8 inch FNPT branch for potable water systems. It is made from low-lead bronze and rated for a maximum operating pressure of 577 psi. The fitting uses sweat cup connections on the run and a threaded port on the branch. It suits plumbers and DIYers working on residential or light commercial supply lines.
Sweat and Threaded Connections in One Body
The tee slips onto 5/8 inch outer diameter copper tube at both run ends for soldered joints. The centre outlet accepts 1/8 inch male pipe threads for valves, gauges or drain cocks. This combination reduces the number of separate adapters required in a branch installation. It frees up space compared with assembling a straight tee plus a reducer and a threaded bushing.
Pressure Rated Bronze Handles Heat and Pressure
Low-lead bronze construction withstands the 577 psi rating without deformation in normal hot and cold water service. The metal body dissipates heat quickly during soldering, reducing the risk of overheating nearby components. No moving parts or seals mean silent operation and no wear points under flowing water. The fitting contains no plastic or rubber elements that could degrade over time.

Questions about this item
What is the maximum operating pressure this bronze reducing tee can handle?
The fitting is rated for a maximum operating pressure of 577 psi.
How much heat does the fitting generate during continuous water flow?
As a passive bronze fitting it produces no heat of its own; temperature depends entirely on the fluid passing through it.
What pipe and tube sizes must already be in place for this tee to connect?
It requires 1/2 in copper tube (5/8 in OD) on the two cup ends and 1/8 in FNPT female threads on the branch.
