Wide-Angle Prime for FX-Format DSLRs

The Nikon AF NIKKOR 20mm f/2.8D is a compact wide-angle prime built for FX-format Nikon F-mount cameras. On DX bodies it delivers a 30mm equivalent field of view. The f/2.8 maximum aperture suits varied lighting and allows shallow depth of field for subject isolation. It is designed for photographers who need a fast, lightweight lens for landscape, interior and travel work.

Optics and Coating for Flare Control

Super Integrated Coating on individual elements reduces internal reflections, flare and ghosting to preserve contrast and colour accuracy in bright or backlit scenes. Close Range Correction maintains consistent image quality across the entire focusing range. A rounded seven-blade diaphragm contributes to smooth background rendering. Autofocus operates on select Nikon DSLRs that support D-type lenses.

Bundle Adds Storage, Protection and Workflow Tools

A Sandisk 64GB Ultra memory card provides immediate capture capacity, while the 3-piece filter kit protects the front element and manages reflections. The Pro Sling backpack, 12-inch flexible tripod, memory card wallet, lens cap keeper and cleaning kit support transport and on-location care. A card reader and Corel photo software enable direct file transfer and post-processing.

Questions about this item

How do I mount the 20mm f/2.8D lens on my Nikon DSLR and what step is often missed?

Align the lens index dot with the camera mount marker, twist until it clicks, then set the aperture ring to its smallest opening and lock it so the body can control exposure.

What parts of this bundle will need replacement over time?

The Sandisk 64GB Ultra card may wear after heavy write cycles, filters can scratch and the cleaning kit fluids will run out; the lens itself has no consumable parts.

What optical limit appears first when shooting continuously at f/2.8 in bright light?

The seven-blade diaphragm stays at its widest f/2.8 setting, so depth of field remains shallow and flare control relies on the Super Integrated Coating rather than stopping down.
