Versatile 7.5x zoom covering 18-135mm for DX SLRs, with ED glass, silent autofocus, internal focusing and 67mm filter thread
This Nikon AF-S DX NIKKOR 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6G ED-IF lens covers a broad focal range from 18 to 135 millimetres. It is engineered exclusively for Nikon DX format digital SLR cameras. The angle of view approximates a 28 to 200 millimetre lens on a 35 millimetre film camera. It suits landscapes, portraits, action and close-up photography.
The lens mounts directly to the Nikon DX SLR bayonet without adapters. Internal focusing keeps the barrel length constant and the front element stationary. A Silent Wave Motor provides fast, quiet autofocus. The minimum focus distance is 1.47 feet throughout the zoom range. A 67 millimetre filter thread accepts standard screw-in filters.
Photographers who want a single walk-around zoom for DX bodies will appreciate the wide-to-tele coverage. Buyers who need a constant maximum aperture across the range should look elsewhere. Users of full-frame Nikon cameras cannot use this lens in DX crop mode without vignetting. Videographers requiring smooth manual focus rings may prefer a different design.

Attach the lens to a compatible DX-format Nikon DSLR, switch the focus mode to AF, and half-press the shutter; the focus motor should move smoothly without audible grinding and the viewfinder focus indicator should lock solidly on subjects from 1.47 ft to infinity across the 18-135mm range.
The bulk package supplies the lens body with front and rear caps only; you will need to buy a 67mm filter, a lens hood, and a protective case separately.
This single 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6G model covers a 7.5x range equivalent to 28-200mm on 35mm film, making it the all-in-one choice for wide-angle through telephoto needs on DX bodies.
