Nikon Inc NIKKOR Z 85mm f/1.8 S camera lens

Portrait prime for Z-mount

The NIKKOR Z 85mm f/1.8 S is a full-frame prime lens built for Nikon Z cameras. Its wide f/1.8 aperture and nine-blade diaphragm produce smooth background separation. Two ED glass elements and Nano Crystal coating suppress aberrations and ghosting. Dust and drip resistant sealing protects the barrel during outdoor sessions.

Check mount and focal length

Verify that your camera uses the Nikon Z mount before ordering. The fixed 85mm focal length suits head-and-shoulders framing but cannot zoom wider or tighter. Autofocus and manual focus are both available, so confirm your body supports AF with Z lenses. The customisable control ring can be assigned to aperture, exposure compensation or focus.

Suits portrait and event shooters

Photographers who want shallow depth of field for portraits, weddings or street work will benefit from the fast aperture and optical corrections. Videographers needing quiet focus transitions also gain from the stepping motor design. Shooters who require zoom versatility, macro magnification or a wider angle of view should consider a different lens.
