Vlogger-ready mirrorless camera

The Nikon Z fc DX-Format Silver is a compact mirrorless camera built for content creation and travel photography. It pairs a 20.9 MP DX CMOS sensor with the EXPEED 6 processing engine for high-quality stills and video. The fully articulating vari-angle touchscreen supports self-recording and low-angle shooting. Continuous shooting reaches 11 fps and ISO extends to 51200 for low-light work.

SnapBridge app and external mic jack

The free Nikon SnapBridge app maintains a constant connection to a compatible smart device for quick image transfer and remote control. A built-in stereo microphone handles basic audio while the external microphone jack allows higher-quality sound capture for vlogs and live streams. The camera also functions as a webcam for video conferences without extra hardware.

Classic tactile controls and Z-mount flexibility

Heritage-inspired analog dials provide direct access to shutter speed, ISO and exposure compensation for intuitive manual operation. The Z-mount accepts native NIKKOR Z lenses and, with the optional FTZ adapter, F-mount NIKKOR lenses. A hotshoe supports external flashes and accessories for expanded creative options.

Questions about this item

Does the 209-point autofocus sensor need any periodic recalibration?

No, the 209-point hybrid AF system is solid-state and requires no user calibration.

What limits continuous 4K UHD recording at 30p during long sessions?

The camera stops 4K recording after the internal 30-minute limit or if the sensor overheats.

How hot and loud does the body get when streaming 1080p at 120p all day?

The body warms noticeably but stays within spec; the fanless design keeps it silent.
