Slimmest NIKKOR Z Wide-Angle Prime

The Nikon NIKKOR Z 26mm f/2.8 is the slimmest and lightest lens in the NIKKOR Z series. It is designed for advanced amateur photographers who carry a mirrorless camera daily. The compact wide-angle prime fits street and landscape shooting where portability matters. A 3-piece filter kit, cleaning kit and lens cap keeper are included in the bundle.

All-Element Focusing and STM Motor

An all-element focusing system moves every group in unison for consistent sharpness from 8 inches to infinity. The STM stepping motor provides smooth, accurate and quiet autofocus suited to both stills and video. Three aspherical elements minimise aberrations and correct wide-angle distortion across the frame. Performance remains steady during extended shooting sessions.

Dust and Drip Resistant Construction

The barrel is sealed against dust and moisture for reliable outdoor use in changeable weather. A fast f/2.8 aperture and Z mount design support higher shutter speeds in low light. The programmable control ring allows quick adjustment of aperture or exposure compensation. The HB-111 hood with a 52mm front thread reduces flare during normal operation.

Questions about this item

How quiet is the STM stepping motor when the 26mm f/2.8 runs all day?

The STM stepping motor provides smooth, accurate and quiet autofocus, making it suitable for extended video recording and stills sessions without intrusive focusing noise.

Which Nikon mirrorless body and Z-mount system do I already need to use this 26mm f/2.8 lens?

This lens requires a Nikon Z-mount mirrorless camera body to function, as it is designed exclusively for the Z mount system.

Will the 52mm front thread on this 26mm f/2.8 accept the filters I already own for older Nikkor glass?

Yes, the 52mm filter thread matches many legacy Nikkor lenses, so existing 52mm circular filters can be used directly on this lens.
