Z-mount DX zoom for everyday shooting

The Nikon NIKKOR Z DX 16-50mm f/3.5-6.3 VR is a compact zoom lens built for DX-format Z-mount mirrorless cameras. It covers a 24-75mm equivalent focal range, spanning wide-angle to portrait lengths. The variable aperture runs from f/3.5 to f/6.3, and the optical formula includes one extra-low dispersion element to help control aberrations.

Bundle adds close-up and cleaning gear

The package includes Ultimaxx 46mm macro close-up lenses that let you focus closer for detailed shots without a dedicated macro optic. A blower, cleaning pen, microfiber cloth and starter cleaning kit are also supplied to keep the front element and filters free of dust and smudges. These accessories support day-to-day maintenance and creative close-up work.

Simple mount with VR and stepping motor

The lens mounts directly on any Z-mount DX body with no adapter required. Vibration Reduction provides up to 4.5 stops of shake correction for steadier handheld results. A stepping motor delivers quiet, precise autofocus with full-time manual override. Buyers who need a constant f/2.8 aperture or full-frame coverage should look at other Z-mount options.

Questions about this item

Will the 46 mm UV filter and cleaning kit need replacing after heavy use?

The 46 mm filter can stay on the lens permanently; clean it with the supplied blower, pen and cloth whenever dust or smudges appear.

What optical limit appears first when shooting at 50 mm f/6.3 all day?

At 50 mm the maximum aperture is f/6.3, so depth of field is deep and low-light shutter speeds become the practical limit.

How much heat or noise does the VR system add during continuous handheld video?

The stepping motor and VR unit run silently; the lens barrel stays cool to the touch even after long recording sessions.
