Nikon Prostaff P3 8x42 binocular 42mm 20.2mm eye relief waterproof 3.3ft

Outdoor viewing companion

The Nikon Prostaff P3 8x42 binocular is built for outdoor enthusiasts who need a bright, steady view in changing light. Its 42mm objective lens maximizes light intake while 8x magnification provides a wide field of view for locating and tracking subjects. A lead and arsenic-free eco-glass construction with multilayer coated lenses reduces glare for sharper images. The waterproof design withstands immersion down to 3.3 feet and resists internal fogging.

Build integration and handling

The roof prism design keeps the body compact enough for extended carry during hiking or birdwatching sessions. Turn-and-slide eyecups with 20.2mm eye relief accommodate spectacle wearers and allow quick adjustment between users. A locking diopter ring holds your personal focus setting once calibrated. The non-slip rubber-armored body provides a secure grip in wet conditions while the nonstick lens coating repels water and dirt for easy cleaning.

Suitability and limits

This binocular suits users who prioritize low-light brightness, long eye relief, and weather-sealed durability for land-based observation. It is not intended for underwater use, so buyers needing submersible optics should look elsewhere. The fixed 8x magnification cannot be zoomed, limiting flexibility for viewers who want variable power. Users requiring built-in rangefinding, image stabilization, or digital capture features will need a different instrument.
