Classic looks meet modern sensor

The Nikon Z fc is a DX-format mirrorless camera built around a 20.9MP CMOS sensor and EXPEED 6 processor. It shoots at 11 fps and records UHD 4K video at 30p with a sensitivity range up to ISO 51200. A 209-point AF system with eye-detection AF keeps subjects sharp. The vari-angle touchscreen LCD and electronic viewfinder suit both stills and video workflows.

Kit lens adds stabilised zoom

The included NIKKOR Z DX 16-50mm f/3.5-6.3 VR lens covers a wide-to-normal range in a compact form. Its built-in Vibration Reduction helps steady handheld shots and smooths video footage. The lens retracts for storage and extends when powered on, keeping the kit light for daily carry. SnapBridge, BLE and Wi-Fi let you transfer images to a phone or control the camera remotely.

Magnesium chassis with modern ports

A magnesium alloy chassis and precision-carved aluminium dials give the body a solid feel while echoing classic SLR styling. The fully articulating touchscreen flips forward for vlogging and tucks away to protect the display. An external microphone jack improves audio capture for live streaming. USB Type-C provides power delivery and data transfer, while the vari-angle screen and eye-level viewfinder adapt to high, low or eye-level shooting.

Questions about this item

Will the 209-point AF system need calibration or firmware updates to maintain accuracy?

Firmware updates are released by Nikon and can be applied via the SnapBridge app or a memory card to keep autofocus performance current.

What limits 4K video recording duration during long sessions?

Each clip can record up to 30 minutes, and extended use may trigger thermal protection that stops recording until the camera cools.

How hot or loud does the magnesium alloy body get when streaming all day?

The body remains silent with no fan, though the magnesium chassis can become warm during continuous 4K streaming or high-frame-rate shooting.
