Z50 20.9MP DX mirrorless kit

The Nikon Z50 pairs a 20.9MP DX-format CMOS sensor with the EXPEED 6 processor for up to 11 fps continuous shooting. A 209-point hybrid AF system with eye detection tracks subjects reliably. UHD 4K video records at 30 fps and Full HD reaches 120 fps for slow motion. The 16-50mm kit lens covers everyday focal lengths in a compact package.

Check Z mount lens needs and SD card speed

Verify you want the Z mount ecosystem before committing to this body. The 16-50mm kit lens is a variable-aperture zoom; consider additional Z lenses for wider apertures or longer reach. UHD 4K at 30 fps and 11 fps bursts demand a UHS-I card with sustained write performance. The 180° flip-down touchscreen suits vlogging but adds hinge depth.

Upgrades from entry DSLR or smartphone

This kit replaces an ageing entry-level DSLR with a lighter mirrorless body, faster 209-point AF and 4K video. It also steps up from a phone by adding a large DX sensor, eye detection and a 2.36m-dot OLED EVF for bright-day composing. The jump is worth it when you need interchangeable lenses, weather sealing and 11 fps action capture.

Questions about this item

Does the Nikon Z50 kit come with a battery and charger or do I need to buy them separately?

The Nikon Z50 kit includes the camera body, 16-50mm lens, and Top Accessory Kit. The bundle supplies the essentials to start shooting; check the accessory list for the exact battery and charger count.

Should I choose the 16-50mm lens for travel or buy a longer zoom separately for wildlife?

The 16-50mm lens covers a versatile wide-to-short-tele range ideal for travel and daily use. Wildlife or sports action usually demands a longer telephoto zoom that is not in this box.

How does the 209-point hybrid AF with eye detection behave when tracking a moving subject at 11 fps?

The 209-point hybrid AF locks onto eyes and tracks faces while the EXPEED 6 processor drives continuous shooting at up to 11 fps, keeping moving subjects sharp across the frame.
