Z6 Kit with 24-70mm f/4 S Lens

The Nikon Z6 kit pairs a 24.5MP full-frame mirrorless body with the NIKKOR Z 24-70mm f/4 S zoom lens. It delivers up to 12 fps continuous shooting, 4K Ultra HD video, and 120/1080P slow motion. The 273-point on-sensor phase-detect AF system covers a wide area. The new Z mount enables the included lens and over 360 F-mount Nikkor options via adapter.

Suits hybrid shooters wanting one system

Photographers and videographers who need a balance of resolution, speed, and low-light capability up to ISO 51,200 native will find this kit versatile. The lightweight mirrorless design handles varied assignments well. Buyers who require higher resolution sensors or specialised sports telephoto reach should evaluate other configurations.

24.5MP sensor decides the detail ceiling

The 24.5-megapixel backside-illuminated sensor sets the maximum image resolution and influences low-light noise performance. It supports 12-bit raw capture at 12 fps and full-pixel-readout 4K video. If your workflow demands significantly larger files for heavy cropping or large-format print, this sensor resolution may limit those uses.

Questions about this item

How do I attach the NIKKOR Z 24-70mm f/4 S lens to the Z6 body, and what alignment step is often missed?

Align the white mounting index on the lens barrel with the white dot on the Z mount flange, insert the lens, then rotate it clockwise until the lock clicks; skipping the index alignment can prevent the lock from engaging fully.

What maintenance will the 24.5MP backside illuminated sensor and 273-point phase detect AF system need over time?

The sensor may collect dust when changing lenses; use the camera’s built-in cleaning mode first, then a manual blower if needed, avoiding contact with the sensor surface to protect the AF pixel array.

What limit appears first when recording 4K ultra-HD video continuously at full pixel readout?

The internal temperature protection stops recording once the body reaches its thermal threshold; clip length varies with ambient temperature and prior use.
