Each Joy-Con can be used independently in one hand, attached to the console for handheld mode, or combined with the optional grip to form a traditional gamepad. Built-in accelerometer and gyro-sensor allow independent left and right motion control in supported titles. The pair ships with two black wrist-strap accessories that slide onto the controllers for added security during active play.

Immediate multiplayer readiness

Questions about this item

How does the Joy-Con pair connect to the Nintendo Switch console?

Each Joy-Con slides onto the side rails of the main unit for handheld play, or snaps into the included grip for a traditional controller layout; both methods use the console's built-in rail interface.

What physical parts come in the box for mounting and safety?

The package contains one left Joy-Con, one right Joy-Con, and two black wrist-strap accessories that slide onto the controllers for strap attachment.

What is the correct way to attach a wrist strap so it does not come loose during motion play?

Slide the strap accessory onto the Joy-Con rail until it clicks, then thread the cord through the loop and pull tight; the click confirms the lock, which is the step most often missed.
