Resolution and protocol limits

The cable carries DisplayPort video up to 4K at 60 Hz using HBR2, HBR or RBR lane rates. It only works when the host port provides a native DisplayPort alt-mode signal; a plain USB-C data port will not drive a display through this cable.

Installing the adapter

Plug the USB-C male end into the host and the DisplayPort male end into the screen; the reversible Type-C connector removes orientation guesswork. The three-foot length restricts placement to very close equipment, so verify reach before routing. Gold-plated contacts resist corrosion but cannot compensate for a host that lacks the required alt-mode capability.
