Replacement cord for C7 devices

This 10 ft polarised cord connects a NEMA 1-15P plug to an IEC-60320-C7 inlet. It suits laptops, VCRs, DVD players and similar equipment that requires a two-slot polarised connection. The 18 AWG SPT-2 construction is fully moulded for durability and rated at 10A/125V. It replaces damaged, overused or missing original cables.

Upgrade from shorter or worn leads

The 10 ft length adds reach when the wall outlet sits farther from the device than the factory cable allows. A swap is worthwhile when the existing cord shows insulation cracks, loose moulding or intermittent contact at either connector. UL, cUL and CSA listings confirm compliance with North American safety standards for this cable type.

Handles 10 A continuous load

The 18 AWG conductors carry up to 10 A at 125 V, covering typical notebook power supplies and legacy AV gear. Headroom ends at that rating; devices drawing more current need a heavier gauge. RoHS and REACH compliant materials meet current substance restrictions for new equipment.

Questions about this item

Will the NEMA 1-15P plug fit a standard US wall outlet?

Yes, the NEMA 1-15P is a standard polarized US plug rated 10A/125V and fits any North American 125 V receptacle.

How do I connect the IEC-60320-C7 end to my laptop power brick?

Align the polarized figure-8 connector so the squared-off side matches the brick's socket, then push firmly until fully seated; the moulded strain relief prevents accidental disconnection.

When should I replace this 18 AWG SPT-2 cord?

Replace it if the jacket shows cracks, the connectors feel loose, or the plug blades become bent, as damage to the 18 AWG conductors can create a fire hazard.
