Connects a DisplayPort source to a VGA monitor or projector at up to 1920x1200 and 1080p 60 Hz with a 3 ft 28 AWG cable
This Nippon Labs DP-VGA-3 cable integrates an active converter so a DisplayPort source can drive a VGA monitor or projector without a separate dongle. The three-foot black cable carries male connectors on both ends and uses 28 AWG conductors. It targets users adding a legacy display to a modern desktop or laptop that lacks native VGA output.
Instead of chaining a passive DisplayPort-to-VGA dongle to a standard cable, this single assembly handles the digital-to-analogue conversion internally. The jump is worth it when desk space is tight, when cable routing must stay simple, or when a shorter three-foot reach matches the distance between GPU and monitor.
Verify the source device provides a standard DisplayPort signal; the adapter will not work from HDMI, DVI or USB-C ports without their own active conversion. Confirm the target display accepts VGA at up to 1920 by 1200 at 60 Hz, the maximum resolution the cable supports. No external power is required, but the source must supply enough current for the built-in converter.

One end has a male DisplayPort plug and the other end has a male VGA plug, both moulded onto the 28 AWG cable.
Insert the DisplayPort male connector into the source device such as a desktop or laptop, then connect the VGA male connector to the monitor or projector.
No, the adapter draws the power it needs directly from the DisplayPort source so no external power cable is required.
