Purpose and audience

This Nippon Labs active optical HDMI cable carries 48 Gbps bandwidth over a 12 metre run. It targets installers and enthusiasts who need reliable 8K or high-refresh 4K links between source and display where copper cables would fail.

Build integration

The hybrid fibre construction plugs directly into any HDMI 2.1 male port without external power or converters. It replaces long copper runs in digital signage, medical imaging, home theatre or conference rooms and frees the installer from signal boosters or repeaters.

Thermals noise and power

Passive optical transmission generates no audible noise and adds negligible heat to the signal path. The cable draws operating power from the HDMI ports themselves, so no separate supply is required during normal use.

Questions about this item

What is the longest 8K 60 Hz run this 12 m AOC cable can handle without signal loss?

The 12 m fiber-optic design maintains full 8K 7680x4320 at 60 Hz across the entire 39.37 ft length with no degradation.

Does the cable draw extra power or generate noticeable heat during all-day 48 Gbps operation?

The hybrid AOC construction uses an embedded chipset that operates without external power and runs cool during continuous high-bandwidth use.

Which HDMI version must my source and display already support to get 8K 60 Hz or 4K 120 Hz from this cable?

Both ends need HDMI 2.1 ports; the cable is backward compatible with HDMI 2.0 and 1.4 for lower resolutions.
