8-port PoE+ switch for IP cameras

This unmanaged Gigabit switch provides eight PoE+ ports and two Gigabit uplinks for NVR or router backhaul. It delivers up to 30W per port within a 120W total budget using IEEE 802.3af/at. The fanless metal housing enables silent operation in noise-sensitive areas. A built-in power supply and AC cable remove the need for external injectors.

Practical limits of unmanaged PoE switching

The switch operates at Layer 1 with no SNMP, VLAN tagging, or traffic prioritisation beyond the hardware VLAN isolation mode. Uplink ports run at Gigabit speed while downlink ports negotiate at 10/100/1000 Mbps. Jumbo frames up to 9216 bytes are supported for larger packets. Passive PoE or 24V devices will not receive power and need a separate splitter or adapter.

120W total PoE budget decides camera count

Eight ports share a 120W ceiling, so the number of powered cameras depends on each unit's draw rather than the port count alone. Extend mode pushes data and power to 250 metres over suitable cabling for perimeter runs. The 48V active PoE output complies with 802.3af/at standards for compatible IP cameras and NVRs. Non-PoE devices pass data only without power.
