Product identity

The Noble Locks TZ18T is a wedge-style security lock built for Dell consumer and gaming laptops. It provides a physical tether point so the device can be anchored to a desk or cart. The lock ships new and was first listed by the manufacturer on 29 November 2019.

Who this suits

This lock suits owners of compatible Dell laptops who need a basic anti-theft solution for office, school or LAN-party environments. Buyers whose Dell model uses a different slot type or who require a keyed-alike master system for a fleet should look at something else.

Deciding specification

The deciding specification is the wedge-style slot interface that matches specific Dell consumer and gaming chassis. Verify that the laptop accepts this wedge profile before purchase because other Dell lines use Noble standard or Kensington slots instead.

Questions about this item

What does the 18 mm wedge width mean when I fit it on my Dell laptop?

The 18 mm wedge matches the standard security slot on Dell consumer and gaming notebooks, so the lock seats fully without forcing the slot.

Which lock standard does the TZ18T use, and what does that limit?

It uses the Noble Wedge standard, which only fits Dell slots shaped for that wedge; it will not engage Kensington Nano or standard T-bar slots.

What clearance does the lock head need to sit flush on the chassis?

The wedge profile requires a flat area around the security slot so the lock body can sit square without hitting curved edges or port covers.
