Scale and subject

This Norev diecast model reproduces the 1996 Volkswagen Golf GTI 20 Years Anniversary Edition in Flash Red at 1/18 scale. It is made of diecast metal with some plastic parts and arrives in the manufacturer's original unopened packaging. The model measures approximately 8.25 inches long, 4 inches wide and 2.75 inches high. Real rubber tyres, a detailed interior and exterior, steerable wheels and opening hood, doors and rear gate complete the officially licensed replica.

Collector focus

The piece suits adult collectors and hobby enthusiasts who value true-to-scale detail and a factory-fresh presentation. Buyers looking for a toy intended for regular play by children should consider other ranges, as the model is designed for display rather than rough handling. Anyone needing a different scale, a different anniversary livery or a version without opening features will not find those options in this specific release.

Display durability

Under sustained display conditions the diecast metal body and fixed plastic components remain stable without the mechanical wear that moving parts can develop. The steerable wheels and opening panels operate smoothly when handled occasionally but are not engineered for repeated daily cycling. Real rubber tyres hold their shape over time, and the painted Flash Red finish resists fading when kept away from direct sunlight.

Questions about this item

What display space does the 8.25-inch length need?

The model measures 8.25 inches long, 4 inches wide and 2.75 inches high, so allow a shelf at least that deep and wide.

Can the steerable wheels and opening hood stay aligned if I display it beside heavier 1/18 diecast cars?

Yes, the diecast metal body keeps the wheels and panels rigid, so they remain aligned next to other 1/18 scale models.

How do I confirm the 20 Years Anniversary Edition details are correct after unboxing?

Check the Flash Red paint, the official anniversary badging, the steerable front wheels, opening hood, doors, rear gate and real rubber tires.
