Double-edged zinc alloy razor

The Northwest TR84-MS is a black safety razor cast from zinc alloy with a double-sided head. It accepts standard single blades and uses a closed-comb bar set at a 30-degree angle. The package includes ten blades and the razor itself. The design targets a mild, close shave with minimal passes.

Novice daily shavers versus aggressive shavers

This razor suits beginners and anyone who shaves daily and prefers a forgiving, mild feel. The single blade reduces the irritation that multi-blade cartridges can cause on sensitive skin. Buyers who want an adjustable gap or a more aggressive cutting angle for heavy stubble should look at something else.

Five interchangeable heads included

The set provides five heads, letting the user rotate or replace them without buying extra parts. This number of heads is the key spec that determines whether the kit covers the intended shaving routine.

Questions about this item

How do I install a blade into the Northwest TR84-MS safety razor without cutting myself?

Unscrew the handle from the zinc-alloy head, place one of the 10 included blades onto the posts, align the top plate with the closed safety bar, then re-tighten the handle — the blades are very sharp so handle only by the short edges and keep fingers clear of the 30 degree cutting angle.

What parts of the Northwest TR84-MS will need replacement over time?

Only the double-edged blades are consumable; the zinc-alloy head and handle are designed for lifetime use, so you simply swap in a fresh blade from the 10 supplied or from standard DE blade packs when the edge dulls.

At what point does the Northwest TR84-MS feel tugging instead of gliding during a long shave?

Tugging appears once the single blade loses its factory keenness — typically after several shaves — so replace the blade promptly rather than applying extra pressure on the 30 degree angle.
