  • Camera-standard movement keeps lens-to-subject distance constant

Precision Macro Bellows

The NovoFlex CASTBAL-PRO Bellows Attachment mounts to the CASTEL-MICRO focusing rack, turning it into a precision macro platform for medium format and 35mm camera bodies. It is built for photographers who need fine, repeatable focus control during studio or field work. The robust construction withstands demanding conditions while delivering smooth, fluid movements for critical shots.

Camera-Standard Stacking

When attached, the bellows enables focus stacking by moving the camera standard instead of the lens, keeping the lens-to-subject distance constant. This design controls reflections in jewellery photography and supports stacking of larger objects in product photography. It also integrates with the BALPRO adapter system and works with lenses such as the Schneider Kreuznach APO-DIGITAR 4.5/90mm lens head.

Motor-Driven Rack Required

The attachment only functions when mounted on a CASTEL-MICRO stepping motor-driven focusing rack. Without that specific rack, the bellows cannot perform its precision stacking movements. Buyers who do not already own or plan to acquire the CASTEL-MICRO rack cannot use this accessory.

Questions about this item

Does the CASTBAL-PRO bellows fabric require periodic replacement?

The fabric is built for durable, long-term use in demanding studio conditions and has no scheduled replacement interval.

What limits continuous macro focus stacking with the CASTEL-MICRO stepping motor?

The total extension of the bellows and the lens focus range set the practical limit for stack depth.

Does the CASTBAL-PRO generate heat or noise during all-day stacking sessions?

The bellows itself is a passive mechanical component with no motor, so it adds no heat or noise.
