Tailored for 2230 M.2 SSDs

The green aluminum-alloy shell includes a shockproof silicone sleeve and an integrated USB-C cable that doubles as a lanyard. No fan is fitted; cooling relies on the metal body.

Suits owners of 2230 drives wanting portable 10

It works with Windows, Mac, Linux, Android, iOS and devices such as iPhone 15, laptops, tablets and Steam Deck. Builders who need a 2242, 2260 or 2280 form factor, or who require a swappable cable, should look at something else.

The 2230 length is the deciding spec

Only drives built to the 2230 footprint will fit inside. The 10 Gbps interface delivers up to 1000 MB/s read speed, so the enclosure matches the pace of most 2230 NVMe modules.

Questions about this item

Should I choose the 2230 M.2 size or a different form factor for this enclosure?

The enclosure only accepts M.2 2230 drives, so you must select a 2230 NVMe stick; other lengths will not fit.

What does the 1000 MB/s read speed mean when I plug it into my laptop?

The 1000 MB/s figure is the maximum sequential read the USB 3.2 Gen 2 10 Gbps link can sustain; real-world speeds depend on the SSD and host controller.

Does the USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 10Gbps port limit the drive’s performance?

Yes, the 10 Gbps USB-C interface caps throughput at about 1000 MB/s, so faster NVMe drives will be bottlenecked by the enclosure.
