Offloads storage and networking with 16 Arm cores, dual 200 Gb/s QSFP112 ports and 48 GB DDR5 on PCIe 5.0 x16
The NVIDIA BlueField-3 E-Series is a high-performance storage controller built on a 16-core Arm architecture. It targets data-centre workloads that demand hardware-accelerated networking and storage offload. The card delivers dual-port 200 Gb/s Ethernet or NDR200 InfiniBand connectivity through QSFP112 interfaces. It suits infrastructure teams deploying composable infrastructure or software-defined storage clusters.
The card uses a full-height half-length PCIe Gen5 x16 slot with backward compatibility down to Gen 1.1. An optional auxiliary passive card adds a second PCIe x16 Gen5 link via Cabline SA-II Plus harnesses, which requires extra chassis space and cable routing. Installers must verify bracket clearance and harness length before fitting. Firmware defaults to Ethernet mode; switching to InfiniBand requires driver reconfiguration.
This controller fits builders who need inline encryption, compression or erasure coding offloaded from host CPUs. The on-board 48 GB DDR5 with ECC and 40 GB pSLC eMMC plus 128 GB SSD provide local buffer and boot storage. It does not suit buyers who want a standard NIC for basic connectivity or teams lacking PCIe Gen5 slots and auxiliary-card clearance.

Check the link status in the OS or management utility; a negotiated 200GAUI-2 or 200GBASE-CR4 connection confirms the port is running at the default 200 Gb/s Ethernet rate.
The card ships with the FHHL bracket installed; QSFP112 copper or optical transceivers and Cabline SA-II Plus harnesses for the optional PCIe x16 extension are not included.
This part number identifies the B3220SH model with 16 Arm cores at 505 MHz/2000 MHz, 48 GB DDR5 with ECC, 40 GB pSLC eMMC and 128 GB SSD, dual-port QSFP112 and PCIe Gen5 x16.
