Purpose and audience

The OBET B65-HEI is a wireless weather station with a hygrometer designed for home, garden, office or restaurant use. It delivers indoor and outdoor temperature readings plus humidity, dew point, heat index and barometric pressure on a single black display. One remote sensor is included and the base unit can pair with up to three sensors for multi-point monitoring.

Wireless range and sensor limits

The radio link between the base unit and each sensor works up to 500 feet in open conditions. Only one sensor ships in the box, so additional units must be purchased separately to reach the three-channel maximum. The base unit requires three AAA batteries and each sensor needs two AA batteries; none are supplied with the product.

Compatibility checks

Verify that the intended mounting locations fall within the stated operating ranges: indoor temperature 14.2°F to 122°F, outdoor temperature -40°F to 158°F, and humidity 1% to 99%. Ensure you have the required AAA and AA cells on hand before installation. Confirm that the 2.4 by 3.96 by 1.3 inch base unit and the sensor dimensions suit your chosen positions.

Questions about this item

Should I choose the B65-HEI or the B66 model for wider outdoor temperature range?

The B65-HEI covers -40°F to 158°F outdoors, while the B66 extends to -58°F; choose B66 only if you need that extra low-end reach.

What does the ±0.5°F accuracy mean for daily readings in my garden?

In practice, the displayed temperature will sit within half a degree Fahrenheit of the true air temperature, so you can trust small day-to-day changes.

How far can the wireless sensor transmit and what limits the range?

The sensor reaches about 500 feet line-of-sight; walls, foliage and interference will reduce the practical distance.
