Product identity

The OEM Industries AB6205HX-GE3 is a hydraulic-bearing CPU air cooler built for HP DV3, DV3Z, CQ35 and CQ36 notebooks. It runs on a 12 V DC supply drawing 0.40 A through a standard three-pin connector.

Installation notes

The three-pin plug fits directly onto the motherboard header used in the listed HP models, so no adapter is required. Builders must verify the exact part number because similar chassis use different pinouts or voltages.

Target fit

This cooler suits owners of the named HP notebooks who need a direct-replacement fan with hydraulic bearings. It will not fit laptops outside the DV3, DV3Z, CQ35 or CQ36 series, nor desktop sockets or custom loops.

Questions about this item

How do I confirm the fan is spinning at the correct speed after installing it in my HP DV3?

Connect the 3-pin connector to the motherboard header, power on the notebook, and verify the fan rotates steadily; the hydraulic bearing should run quietly at the rated 12 V .40 A.

What comes in the box and do I need any extra cables or brackets?

The package includes the ADDA AB6205HX-GE3 cooling fan with its 3-wire 3-pin connector; no additional cables or mounting hardware are required for the listed HP models.

Which voltage version should I choose for a CQ35 or CQ36 — the 5 V or the 12 V model?

Select the 12 V DC .40 A variant (AB6205HX-GE3) as it matches the specification for HP DV3, DV3Z, CQ35 and CQ36 notebooks.
