Questions about this item

Does the 60 mm square cooler need a 60 mm mounting pattern on the CPU socket?

The cooler measures 60 mm by 60 mm and is 15 mm thick, so it requires a 60 mm square mounting footprint on the motherboard.

How do I connect the 3-wire fan to the motherboard and what step is often missed?

Plug the 3-wire connector into a 12 V CPU fan header; the third wire carries the tachometer signal, which must be connected for the BIOS to report fan speed.

When will the maglev bearing need attention or replacement?

Maglev bearings have no physical contact, so they do not wear like sleeve or ball bearings; the fan runs at 12 V and 2.4 W continuously without scheduled maintenance.
