Front-Loading Legal Tray

The Officemate 22242 is a single-tier desk tray made of heavyweight black plastic. It holds legal-size documents measuring 8.5 by 14 inches in a front-loading orientation. The nonskid base keeps papers from sticking to the bottom. Stacking multiple trays expands vertical storage without increasing desk footprint.

Stackable single-compartment use

Suits anyone who needs a compact, stackable tray for active legal-size files on the desk. Not suited for buyers who want multiple separated compartments in one unit, or who need a tray that loads from the side or top instead of the front.

Legal-size front-loading format

The tray accepts only legal-size sheets (8.5 x 14 in) loaded from the front. If your workflow uses letter, A4 or other paper sizes, this tray will not fit those documents correctly.

Questions about this item

How many legal-size folders can the 2200 Series tray hold before the stack becomes unstable?

The tray is designed for legal documents up to 8.5" x 14" in a single compartment; stability depends on paper weight and stacking height, which is not rated by the manufacturer.

Does the heavyweight plastic warp or become brittle when the tray sits on a desk under constant load?

The tray is made of black heavyweight plastic with a nonskid base, but the supplier provides no temperature or long-term deformation specifications for sustained use.

What additional parts are required to stack multiple 22242 trays vertically?

The tray supports stacking, but the manufacturer notes that supports and additional trays are sold separately; no proprietary connectors or brackets are included in the box.
