Unfinished Pine Storage Box

The OIC 1131 is a small unfinished wooden box made from solid pine with a natural surface ready for paint, stain or engraving. A hinged lid and a retro metal latch keep contents secure while allowing the lid to stay open smoothly. It suits crafters, hobbyists and anyone wanting a compact organiser for jewellery, beads, coins or trinkets. Buyers who need a water-resistant container or a larger capacity unit will not be served by this model.

Durable Hinge and Latch Operation

The metal hinge and latch are designed for repeated daily opening and closing without loosening under normal craft-room or desktop use. Solid pine construction resists warping when kept in stable indoor conditions, so the box maintains its shape over time. No moving parts require lubrication or adjustment. The box is not built for heavy stacking loads or outdoor exposure.

Lightweight and Low-Maintenance

At approximately one pound the box adds negligible weight to a shelf or dresser and draws no power. The unfinished wood surface produces no fan noise or heat and can be wiped clean with a dry cloth. Because it is not water resistant, spills should be avoided to prevent staining or swelling of the pine.

Questions about this item

Does the 1-pound pine box with hinged lid generate any heat or noise when left on a shelf all day?

No, the solid pine construction with metal latch has no moving parts or electronics, so it produces zero heat and makes no sound during continuous use.

What tools or hardware must I already own to use the unfinished OIC 1131 box?

The box arrives fully assembled with its hinged lid and latch in place; no tools are required unless you decide to paint, stain or engrave the raw pine surface yourself.

Will the 5.9 × 3.7 × 2.5 inch interior fit alongside vintage index-card drawers that are 4.3 inches deep?

Yes, at 4.3 inches long the box matches that drawer depth exactly, so it sits flush on the same shelf without overhang.
