What it is and who uses it

The Olufey US-NK50A is a handheld laser distance meter that measures up to 165 feet with ±0.08 inch accuracy. It suits carpenters, realtors, landscapers and painters who need quick distance, area and volume readings on site.

Sustained use behaviour

The meter stores 99 measurement groups and overwrites the oldest once that limit is reached. Its IP54 rating protects against dust and water splashes during all-day outdoor work, while the ABS body weighs 80 grams for easy carrying.

The deciding specification

Measuring range reaches 165 feet (50 metres) with ±0.08 inch (±2 mm) accuracy and a 0.5 second response time. Buyers needing longer range or finer tolerance should look elsewhere.

Questions about this item

How much power does the Olufey US-NK50A draw during all-day use on site?

It runs on two 1.5V AAA batteries and powers down automatically after inactivity, so a fresh set lasts through extended daily measuring sessions.

What must I already own for the Olufey US-NK50A to work out of the box?

Nothing extra is required — the package includes the meter, two 1.5V AAA batteries, a carry bag, a strap and the user manual.

Can I combine measurements from the Olufey US-NK50A with data from an older laser measure I still use?

Yes — the device stores up to 99 data groups in metres, inches or feet, and you can add or subtract readings on the unit before transferring the figures to any other workflow.
